River Port

Ozark is working towards developing a major river port on the Arkansas River in Ozark.

Expansion of Ozark Airport

Currently the airport is undergoing major upgrades.  New lighting is going to be installed with a rotating beacon. Resurfacing of the runway and new striping will soon be underway along with the improvements to the parking area.

The Airport Commission is looking into runway expansion for our airport to allow larger planes to use the facility.

Main Street Ozark

Main Street Ozark has worked hard to keep what is best about our remarkable downtown area.  The heart of downtown is anchored by a quaint pocket park across from the courthouse. They have been instrumental in the building of new sidewalks, lined with trees and period lighting.  We can credit Main Street Ozark for the new Ozark Area Museum located in the historic depot. 

The lights on our beautiful bridge over the Arkansas River, which has become our signature photo for the City, were a result of the efforts of Main Street and the City.  The bridge was named one of the 16 most beautiful bridges in the United States.

On-going work is being done to bring Ozark to the attention of Hollywood movie production companies, which will bring big business into the area along with tourists.
