City of Ozark, Arkansas

City Government

The City of Ozark has a mayoral and city council form of government.  Elections take place every two years for the city council and every four years for the mayoral. City council meetings are open to the public and are broadcast on the local cable channel.  There is an active Planning and Zoning Commission as well.

Ozark’s city sales tax is 8.5%, which is much less than larger cities in the area, such as Fort Smith.

The Mayor’s Office is accessible to the general public daily and provides a weekly column in the Spectator, Ozark’s local newspaper.
